Heating and Air Conditioning

By Hank Jones

You wish to know more details on the concept in regards to the heating and cooling systems and how it can work for your newly purchased house? Read on and you'll discover many things about them and how you can have the greatest upsides from using them.

From their names alone, heating and cooling systems are actually central heating system in the form of heater or central heating boilers and often located on basements or garages of our homes. They're placed out-of-the-way since they are typically large, can emit a great deal of heat while it operates so individuals are better away from them. They can produce heat throughout our properties by pumping in warmed air using its system of air ducts and can also give steam or hot water through pipes coming from the convectors or radiators. Simply, they run with the principle of forced-air and gravity systems and they can be handled through thermostat command.

Most properties nowadays generally use electric baseboard heaters as well as in-floor gas heaters that generate radiant heat but now, more people are getting aware of the centralized heating and cooling systems and more of it will be pointed out below.

For houses, the two typical varieties of heating and cooling systems and these are the centralized ducted air systems and the radiant heating systems. Ducted air systems are the most common type and you can very easily spot it if you see properties with their air conditioning units, or furnace, and heat pump that receive hot or cool air from one source. In this system, there are also two types, the forced-air and the gravity type. With the forced-air system, you can have hot air from the furnace and you can also have cool air from the air conditioning unit. The fan from this system is the one responsible for these as it pushes the cooled or heated air from the system and into the rooms of our offices or homes.

The gravity furnace type works by carrying heated air through the system that comes from a heater which is on the ground or below the main floor. It doesn't use blowers but it uses huge air ducts and can only supply warm air unlike the other kind that is flexible.

Now, the 2nd type of heating and cooling system is the radiant heating systems. From the word radiant itself, the system uses water, hot steam or electricity to charge water and generate radiant heat and this is made possible with the use of the central boiler system that heats the water. The steam that is generated moves around through a system of tubes and pipes that are placed beneath the house's floor surface and when these pipes gets heated because of hot water and steam, radiant heat is released which warm the space.

Electric radiant system is also under this sort of radiant heat. This system works when a house is installed with electric-resistance baseboard or has a system of electric cables and sometimes foils buried beneath the floors or sometimes above ceilings. When there is the flow of electric current on these components, heat is also produced and radiated inside the room.
